On numerous occasions over the years the Cincinnati Kanis family would receive letters from The European Branch of the Kanis Family. These were Kanis descendants who did not immigrate to the United States and remained in Europe. Earl John Kanis would hear his father say, “Here’s another letter from our people in Europe”. They would ask for prayers and money. Times were tough, a worldwide depression was looming and the Nazi’s were slowly but surely taking control of Europe. Sadly, as World War II began, all communication ceased. No word has been heard from the European Branch of The Kanis Family since.
